Description

Bollnäs Library is centrally located in the cultural quarter, close to the cultural school and cultural house.

We are an organization characterized by close collaborations both internally and externally. The cultural house is a creative workplace where a lot happens, and this is also evident at the library. Every other year, we organize the popular Hälsingland Book Fair in collaboration with the libraries in Hudiksvall and Söderhamn as well as Region Gävleborg.

Bollnäs Library is part of the HelGe collaboration, a partnership between the libraries in Hälsingland and Gästrikland.

We are now looking for a new colleague for the adult subject team. In the subject team, four people work together with literature supply, development, and follow-up for the target group, which also includes prioritized target groups such as national minorities, people with disabilities, and citizens with a mother tongue other than Swedish.

Responsibilities

• Standard tasks at public libraries
• You will belong to the Adult subject team and be involved in planning and implementing reading promotion activities for adults in various target groups.
• You will work proactively and create contacts to reach new target groups and spread knowledge about the library's activities and inspire reading.
• You will be responsible for certain digital issues such as updating the library's website.
• You will be responsible for purchasing and managing the collection of adult fiction.
• You will meet our visitors during scheduled shifts at the information desk.
• You will participate in the HelGe collaboration's media group.

Qualifications

A degree in library science or a similar higher education that the employer deems appropriate.

Since the position is responsible for a large part of the purchases of fiction, good knowledge of literature and Swedish book publishing is required.

To thrive in the position, you need to be collaborative, structured, meticulous, and comfortable working in digital environments.

We place great importance on a creative and problem-solving approach. A positive attitude, experience speaking in front of groups, and a pedagogical mindset are important qualities for the reading promotion work.

Working in a library requires strong social skills and a desire to provide service to various types of people, as well as enjoyment in working with customer interactions.

Good communication and writing skills.

We would like you to have experience working in libraries or similar organizations, a strong interest in culture, and knowledge of the library programs Book-IT and Quria.
